'Coyote vs. Acme' Is Finally Here, Will Wile E. Coyote Get His Due?
Admittedly, it’s pretty exciting to watch a movie I thought I’d never get a chance to see. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, Coyote vs. Acme was filmed back in 2022, then Warner Bros. decided not to release the film. Now, that doesn’t mean, “skip theaters and just put it directly on HBO Max/then Max/then HBO Max (again).” But, instead, “We will never release this movie and maybe we should just delete the file for the tax write-off."
Now, I’ve seen my fair share of movies that probably should have been deleted before anyone saw them. The Rise of Skywalker comes to mind.¹ But I found myself dumbfounded watching the charming, clever Coyote vs. Acme and trying to imagine anyone thinking, “Well this piece of shit just doesn't deserve exist.” It’s baffling! Warner Bros., eventually, would sell the distribution rights to the film to Ketchup Entertainment and it's now set to finally be released on August 28th. So, beyond the drama, was Coyote vs. Acme worth the wait?
