The Day I Got a Call From 'Elvis Presley'

So, upfront, today's post will be a little different than the usual nonsense. And, if you bear with me, I promise, by the end of this, there will be a point:

My phone rang and the caller ID said, "Elvis Presley." Now, this was unusual for a few reasons. First, I do not know why The King would be calling me for any reason whatsoever. (Then again, Bruce Willis did call me once out of the blue, but my caller ID said "blocked.") The second reason is, even though this happened back in 2000, Elvis Presley had still been dead for 23 years. Against my better judgement I answered the phone. This was still an era when people answered the phone even when it was obvious the intention of the call was nefarious. But what if it was Elvis Presley? This was also an era in which a lot of people thought Presley was still alive. Did I want to live the rest of my life wondering about this?
