‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Is The Best Spider-Man Movie Since Sam Raimi's 'Spider-Man 2'
It's kind of nuts Tom Holland that has now been playing Spider-Man for a full decade, making his debut way back in Captain America: Civil War. For the first time, over seven movies, we've watched a cinematic Peter transform before our eyes from a high school student (Holland was actually a teenager when he first played the role) to a Peter who is now a full-on adult. And there's something about how Holland plays Peter now that just feels more confident – not necessarily the confidence of the character, but just more how Holland himself looks like he's telling us, "Look, I've got this. I know what I'm doing."
That confidence in the role is evident in Destin Daniel Cretton's Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is the best of the Holland-starring Spider-Man movies, Holland's best performance as Peter, the best-looking superhero movie in quite a long time, and the best Spider-Man movie since Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2. Also, this is the best the Spider-Man costume has ever looked in a movie.
